My New Year’s Resolution

I am not usually the type of girl to make New Year’s resolutions. In fact, I normally forget some of my goals or change the vision that sparks the resolution. I normally do not write down resolutions due to the pressure of having to tally them off. I have always encountered the new year with the same hopes each year. My hopes are to do better and to be better. I want to aim for joy and happiness. I want to be a better person. This goal is not measurable because things happen and sometimes mistakes are made. These kinds of goals are lifetime goals for me and not simple New Year’s Resolutions. This year, I’ve decided to make a couple of concrete resolutions. Here are three resolutions that I will share:

  1. I want to work out more: This past summer I was really into working out. Despite my busy and stressful schedule at the time, I allotted myself ten minutes of cardio and focused workout sets. Although it was hard to find the energy and motivation to get up and begin my workout, afterwards I felt amazing and a lot more optimistic in general (I know, endorphins). This year I would like to continue working out again to bring myself more positivity and better health.
  2. I want to challenge myself: Being a student I find myself being challenged and my butt is kicked daily; however, I would like to challenge myself in a different way. I would like to explore other hobbies and focus more on my interests. I would like to learn more skills outside of my curriculum. This blog is my first step and it brings me excitement, but I hope to step out a little further. Life is far too short to not challenge yourself and explore other avenues.
  3. I want to try to learn another language: I am not sure how successful I will get with this resolution but I would like to try to learn enough travel vocabulary. With my studies, I have to make my courses a priority, but I hope to pick up some other language or languages in my down time. Some languages that are my current learn list are: Korean, Japanese, Spanish, and Italian.
